For several years, Hannah Hamideh worked in both the wholesale and retail sides of jewelry stores.

Although she loves everything having to do with jewelry, Hamideh was troubled by the way the stores marked up their prices.

In order to help provide people with beautiful fine jewelry at prices that will not break the bank, Hamideh was inspired to open Precious Elements Jewelry and Coin in Chandler.

“We have fine jewelry at affordable prices and we also do custom work,” she said.

“For example, if someone has a special design in mind, I work with master jewelers who can make it for them, or if somebody has a grandma or mom ring and they don’t like the style, we can take the diamonds and gold and make it into something that they will wear.”

Hamideh, who opened Precious Elements Jewelry and Coin late last summer, said she also sells accessories and coins, and she buys gold, diamonds, coins and estate jewelry.

“Our buying prices are some of the most competitive and highest in the city,” she said, adding that the jewelry accessories include the latest styles like silver pieces that are dipped in gold and items with Swarovski crystals.

“We can get any coin our customers want and we also buy things on consignment,” she said.

In addition to wanting to provide shoppers with a place to get high-quality and attractive jewelry at budget-friendly prices, Hamideh also wanted to launch a family-friendly business that she could work around her three kids, ages 4, 5 and 10.

“I have a lot of flexibility with my business and it’s very family-oriented and friendly. I want to be everyone’s family jeweler,” she said.

Even though Precious Elements Jewelry and Coin has not been open that long, Hamideh said she is already getting to know a growing group of repeat customers – many of whom have referred the shop to their friends and family.

“It’s been pretty good so far. I just want to be able to help everyone on a budget. For example, a ring that will sell for $1,000 somewhere else, I will sell for $500 or $600,” she said.

“My main goal is that I never want to mark anything up so that people cannot afford it. I also hope to have close relationships with my customers, and I’m already greeting many of them by name when they come in.”

Precious Elements Jewelry and Coin is located at 4980 S. Alma School Road, Suite A7, Chandler. For more information, call 480-659-6984.
