For parents who are looking for a private Christian education for their children that is also affordable, Chandler Christian Academy (CCA) offers everything they are looking for and more.

Tanya Marks, advancement director at CCA, said the school features small class sizes, a caring and family-focused environment, and high quality, competitive academics.

“We currently serve 205 students in preschool to eighth-grade, and we offer a Biblically-based curriculum in all of our classes,” Marks said, adding that the Bible is woven into all subjects from computers and math to reading and Spanish.

The school, which first opened in 1974, is coming up on its fourth school year at its south Chandler location at Desert Springs Church. A number of former students who went to the school when it first opened are now parents of current students, Marks said.

Since opening in the new location, Marks said CCA has added a large new playground for older students to complement the enclosed playground used by younger students.

“We have also installed shade structures and our classrooms have been updated with the latest technology to best prepare students to meet the technological needs of the future,” she said.

One of the many things that helps CCA to stand out, Marks said, is its affordability. While some private Christian schools are known for their high tuition costs, Marks said CCA is probably the most budget-friendly school of its kind in the area.

“Financial assistance is also available for families,” she said.

CCA, which Marks refers to as a “hidden gem,” also offers extracurricular activities that are similar to those found at much larger schools.

From band and student council to performing arts and cross country, girls’ volleyball, golf and more, Marks said the school offers students the chance to try a number of activities.

“In April, the boys’ basketball team came in second place in their league, as did the golf team,” she said, adding that the school board is working on plans to build a gym on site.

“Middle school students also have the opportunity to serve on the worship team, performing at weekly chapels, and students may also participate in events such as speech meet, spelling bee, geography bee, math Olympics and an art festival.”

Looking ahead, Marks said CCA is planning on growing and expanding; From the new gym to offering more extracurriculars, the school definitely has the capacity to grow.

As CCA expands its student body, programs and more, Marks said the school will never lose its focus on the spiritual development of its students, and its supportive and caring environment.

“Our class sizes are kept small so students receive more individualized attention and also to foster closer relationships with teachers and fellow-students,” Marks said.

“Our mission is to equip and train future leaders academically, physically, socially, and spiritually, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to love God and others so that the world will see and know God’s glory.”

The average class size is 15 to 20 students. The annual tuition ranges from $2,515 for a two-day-a-week beginners preschool class to $7,230 for the middle school.
