A new senior pastor is leading Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chandler.

The community and congregation welcomed the Reverend Christine Stoxen to her new position on July 16. Her appointment comes after a national search for a senior pastor that took several months.

Pastor Stoxen had previously served as senior pastor at Grace Lutheran Church in Rock Hill, South Carolina for more than six years. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and elementary education from Gettysburg College, as well as a master’s of divinity degree from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary.

“We are very excited to welcome Pastor Stoxen as the new senior pastor of our church,” said Phil Smithers, Holy Trinity Council President. “Holy Trinity looks forward to continuing and expanding our community outreach with her support and leadership.”

Pastor Stoxen said she is “excited to serve at Holy Trinity as we share God’s love in the community.”

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church has more than 700 members and is located at 739 W. Erie Street. Founded in 1954, the church has been serving Chandler with its mission “To make disciples who will walk in the footsteps of Jesus.” The church is a member of the Grand Canyon Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
