Another primary care medical center is available to patients in Chandler.

Community leaders, prospective patients and insurance brokers celebrated the grand opening of the first Iora Primary Care practice at 4960 S. Alma School Road, Suite 18.

Iora Primary Care has been serving adults on Medicare in Phoenix since 2014 through nine other locations in the Valley.

It welcomes patients with traditional Medicare Part A & Part B, with or without most supplement/Medigap plans, as well as Humana Medicare Advantage plans.

“We are a primary care doctor’s office for adults on Medicare,” said Rick Kratche, Iora Primary Care’s Arizona medical director. “We know that when you invest in relationships with people, you can help them live happier and healthier.

“We see people when they’re sick, but also when they’re well, so that we can keep them healthier. Iora’s patients go to the hospital less – a 40 percent decrease in hospitalizations – and visit the emergency room less (20 percent less),” he continued, adding:

“Our care is built on genuine relationships and our care team works together to treat the whole person.”

At Iora, each patient gets a team that includes a physician or nurse practitioner, health coach, team nurse and behavioral health specialist.

“Together the team spends more time with patients, listens to them, and respects and addresses their questions, concerns and goals,” Kratche said.

Sick patients can get same or next-day appointments at Iora Primary Care. The medical team also helps patients navigate the healthcare system by coordinating with their specialists and other doctors and their family members. A doctor or nurse practitioner is on call 24 hours a day.

City of Chandler Mayor-elect Kevin Hartke said the new center will benefit the many residents in Chandler over the age of 65 years old.

Iora Primary Care sees patients from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and offers 24/7 access to a provider over the phone. Information: ioraprimarycare.com.
