Crispin Glover, known for his roles in the “Back to the Future” and “Charlie’s Angels” films will screen two of his own films, at 7:45 p.m. June 23 and 7 p.m. June 24, at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, 4955 S. Arizona Ave., Chandler. The two-night event will feature a live presentation, special screening, audience Q&A and a book signing.

His “Big Slide Show Part 2” will be followed by his “It is fine! EVERYTHING IS FINE” film on Friday. “Big Slide Show Part 1” will be followed by his “What Is It?” film on Saturday. According to his publicist, the films are in fact intentionally reversed at Glover’s request. Parts 2 and 1 are one-hour live dramatic narrations of eight different illustrated books, with images from the books projected behind Glover.

Glover is a multifaceted American artist, primarily known as a film actor, but who is also a publisher, filmmaker and author. His career has been marked by portrayals of wonderfully eccentric people, such as George McFly in “Back to the Future” and Willard Stiles in “Willard.”

“Back to the Future” was an international box office smash following its release in 1985. Glover followed the release of that film with “River’s Edge.” Glover then pursued a defiantly individualistic path, portraying characters who were notable for their peculiar personality traits and unconventional thought processes. These included Andy Warhol in Oliver Stone’s “The Doors” in 1991 and the title characters in “Bartleby” in 2001 and “Willard” in 2003. He also received attention as the Thin Man in the “Charlie’s Angels” films.

In the late 1980s, Glover started his own company, Volcanic Eruptions, which publishes his books and serves as the production company for his films, “What Is It?” and “It Is Fine! EVERYTHING IS FINE.” He is currently featured as part of the cast of the Starz adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s acclaimed contemporary fantasy novel “American Gods.”
